I am also finding that there is a trend for people to start getting together in person after meeting each other on Twitter or other social networks. A recent example for me was the Twestival where we met and raised funds for Charity Water. I also had lunch last week with a group of telecommunications professionals, invited through Facebook. As citizens we do our part to keep property up (not just for our own financial investment and family's safety, but for the overall good of the neighborhood) but local government - particulary CMPD is NOT keeping up their part of the relationship! How insulting to be told that my only option to keep my property safe is to spend more of my own money to pay for off-duty patrols!!! I realize CMPD is the City Council's primary responsibilty, but since this is a County sponsored blog I'll ask...where is the County Commission when we need them?!?!?!?!? Understands that government, left to its own devices, expands its own power at the expense of the citizen's liberty and so keeps a watchful, and wary eye on those in government. 3. Recognizes that he has no right to the labor of his neighbors and so does not ask to take it from them in the form of taxes in order to pay for personal wants or needs. 4. Recognizes that tolerance of bad behavior and unproductive habits is not conducive to a functioning society and so exhibits high standards himself and boldly proclaims low standards where he sees them. A good citizen:

I am in a "community" when I worship at my church, 30 minutes from my home, and not see those people again for a week. A good citizen allows other drivers to merge into traffic. A good citizen slows downs, takes notes and reports suspicious vehicles or activity that they see in their neighborhood. Do they feel more comfortable spending the night out 10 minutes from their home or they willing to drive for 20 minutes and try a new restaurant or ride the Lynx for 15 minutes, depart & walk directly into TW Arena & enjoy an evening of sports or music. Community is where you frequent.
